Mr. Colin NICHOLSON, Manager Operations Services, and Dr Peter COX of Australian Water Technologies gave us a fascinating glimpse of something that we often take for granted. The speakers covered the history, current and possible future technologies, and problems in supplying potable water to large cities such as Sydney.

This meeting heard two excellent speakers talk on the current topic of Can we Win the War on Drugs?. Dr Don Weatherburn, Director of the Bureau of Crime Statistics and Research spoke on Drug Law Enforcement, Heroin and Harm Minimisation and Dr James Bell, Director of The Langton Centre, spoke on Naltrexone - Faith, Hope, but Little Clarity
The meeting was held at the Australian Museum.

The Poggendorff Memorial Lecture
This lecture commemorates the life and work of of a distinguished Australian agricultural scientist. Peter Cullen CRC, FE addressed the difficult problems encountered in fostering sustainable agriculture enterprises in developing countries.
The lecture was organised and hosted by the Southern Highlands Branch and held at the Frensham School, Mittagong on October 21st 1999.
